The Delft Go tournament will be it's 8th edition this year. It will take place in the weekend of 8th and 9th of September. The tournament location is the same as last year. Het Delftse Go Toernooi is een evenement dat jaarlijks het nieuwe go seizoen inluidt. Dit jaar vindt de 6e editie plaats in het weekend van 4 en 5 september. De speellocatie is, net als tijdens de succesvolle lustrum editie vorig jaar, in buurthuis St. Olof, in de rustige en sfeervolle arbeiderswijk, het "Westerkwartier" in Delft.... Read more >>

Vlak voor de zomervacantie (om precies te zijn mei/juni 2010) vond het Districtstoernooi plaats. Omdat zowel Den Haag als Rotterdam een district is, en er minstens 12 dan-graden meededen, plaatste de top vier zich voor het INDIS, dat in oktober in Amstelveen plaats vind.
Er waren 27 deelnemers, die vijf ronden Zwitserden. Wedstrijden vonden plaats bij de Haagse of Delftse go-club. Na vier ronden hadden alleen Gelmer Bouwman (3D) en Dick Riedeman (3D) nog 100%. Gelmer wist het toernooi op zijn naam te schrijven door in de slotronde Dick van zich af te schudden. Ook Bert Vonk en Bas van den Ende kwalificeren zich met 4 uit 5 voor de voorronde van het NK.... At September 26th and 27th the Belfast open Go tournament took place in Northern Ireland. There were 17 players from the UK (7), Ireland (8), Poland (1) and The Netherlands (1). The McMahon bar was set at 1 kyu with 4 people above the bar including Laurens Spijker. The main time was 50 min and there were 3 periods of 10 seconds overtime. The games were played with Japanese rules and 6.5 komi for white.

By winning three of the four rounds Laurens Spijker managed to take second place in this event, behind Matthew Crosby who won all his games.... Read more >>

With a perfect 6/6 score, Herman Hiddema (3d) won the Leksand Open Tournament in Sweden, held August 13-16. Along the way, he defeated Swedish players Tomas Boman (2d) and Martin Li (5d), as well as fellow Dutchmen Bas Vet (2d), Willem Koen Pomstra (5d), Renee Frehe (4d) en Siu Hong Chung (2d).

Martin Li beat Willem Koen Pomstra for second place, getting a 5/6 score. Third place went to Pomstra on SOS, ahead of the two other player on 4/6, Renee Frehe en Erik Ochterlony (3d). Club member Bas Vet only played 3 rounds, finishing 10th.... Read more >>
